I’m Pitching Moonlight to an Agent!!!

I’ve written in a previous post that one of my sessions in the 2013 Emirates Airlines festival of literature is called The Quick Pitch 1 – Into the Literary Agent’s Den

This is what this session is all about

Do we really all have a novel inside us? How can we know how close we are to being publishable?

In this phenomenal opportunity to meet renowned literary agent Luigi Bonomi, you have 5 minutes alone with him to pitch your idea and get immediate, honest and succinct feedback. Bring along the first five pages of your manuscript for Luigi to read, a one-page synopsis, which you can also deliver verbally, and a 50-word written blurb summarizing what the book is about (as it would appear on the back cover). Any genre of fiction or non-fiction for any age group is welcome. Feeling strong enough to face the agent in his den?

Lets just say I freaked out a bit after I bought the ticket and realized what it really was

I … am going to … pitch Moonlight to Luigi Bonomi and have his opinion on my novel.

The novel I mentioned, I was so passionate about, the novel that I spent days and sleepless nights writing. I’m finally going to have an expert tell me if I’m good enough for not on Friday March 9th 2013 at 5pm.

Or at 5:05 to be precise is my time slot

I’m so nervous and yet I’m so excited!

Let’s just hope I don’t make a fool of myself on that day

Will update you with how it went =D

Until the next blog post

OMG this is HUGE! It’s really scary to put yourself out there, in a position that allows feedback that could be good or bad.
At the end of the day, you should always believe in yourself go after it. So many famous awesome people out there ignored criticism given to them by even more famous people, because they believed in their art. And they believed there are kindred spirits on this planet who would understand them. So, whatever happens, Fatma (I wanted to show you support and be realistic so please don’t hate me for this!) you know there are people just DYING to read your work. And I’m speaking from the point of view of someone who read that amazing scene you had sent a long while back (it might have been in the summer) and absolutely fell in love with it.
Good Luck Fatma! I believe you have the strength to wow those people and show them Emiratis have talent that doesn’t depend on expats.
    Love ❤

Hahaha is it bad that I can’t remember which scene I sent you? XD
Anyway, hopefully it goes well. I’ve been practicing like crazy
Plus I’m also going to be posting some small peices here so I can get feedback from you guys and grow as a writer
I wouldn’t be able to do it without you guy ❤
      Love ❤
