Poem: Her Protector

It’s been a long time hasn’t it? The last couple of weeks have been crazy and I was running around the place.

Anyway, I’m back to bring you guys the latest in terms of my writing.

I’ve met with the group that I took my advanced writing course with and we decided that it would be fun to have a monthly prompt or theme that we can all write about.

The first theme was to write a poem that started with “You’re taking off your clothes….”


Yeah I probably had the same reaction when I first saw that as you did.

So without further ado, this is my poem on this theme

Manuscript Makeover by Elizabeth Lyon

So as part of my Moonlight Revisions, I decided that I was going to read a couple of books that will help me in my revising, rewriting and publishing process.

The first that I’ve read is called Manuscript Makeover: Revision Techniques No Fiction Writer Can Afford to Ignore by Elizabeth Lyon

This book is just packed with information, advice, the dos and donts, examples of every stage and area in writing a novel. From cover to cover, this book tackles what makes a good story from start to end, covering everything that a writer needs to take their manuscript to the next level and correct some mistakes that they might have made along writing their first draft.

I do like that at the end of each chapter/section, this book has a checklist of everything that was discussed in that specific section/chapter which is a great way for writers to go back and read through it

Boy, did I tag a lot of pages in this book
