Manuscript Makeover by Elizabeth Lyon

So as part of my Moonlight Revisions, I decided that I was going to read a couple of books that will help me in my revising, rewriting and publishing process.

The first that I’ve read is called Manuscript Makeover: Revision Techniques No Fiction Writer Can Afford to Ignore by Elizabeth Lyon

This book is just packed with information, advice, the dos and donts, examples of every stage and area in writing a novel. From cover to cover, this book tackles what makes a good story from start to end, covering everything that a writer needs to take their manuscript to the next level and correct some mistakes that they might have made along writing their first draft.

I do like that at the end of each chapter/section, this book has a checklist of everything that was discussed in that specific section/chapter which is a great way for writers to go back and read through it

Boy, did I tag a lot of pages in this book

Well thanks! I love the photo of Manuscript Makeover with all of the tags. I’m happy if the book helped you. I’m proud of this, my last full-length how-to book for writers. Now I’m writing booklets, each one exploring in depth one area of craft. First one: Writing Subtext. That was a tough one, I’ll tell you. A friend of mine who came up with the idea of a booklet series asked me to write on this subject. Writing about subtext is like trying to pick up jello with chopsticks.
