Outside my window prompt

My response for the @untitledchapter ‘s #UCPicturePrompt

Outside my window, was the man of my dreams

Literally… The man who haunted my dreams.

But that is impossible!

This dark haired man who stood in the street looking up at me only existed in my dreams. He had haunted my dreams for over a year, never speaking, but instead showed me the pleasure of passions whenever he appeared before me after I surrendered to the world of my dreams every night.

And yet, here he was, standing before me and it was only midday

The minute I stuck my head outside of my window when someone struck it with a pebble, I was rendered breathless as my gaze met his dark ones.

My mind went blank, I couldn’t think, I couldn’t breath. For a minute, I thought that perhaps I had fallen asleep in the sofa as I was reading.

He smiled up to me before opening his mouth and for the first time since I’ve known him, he spoke to me “I’ve finally found you” his deep voice penetrated every fiber of my being and sent a shiver down my spine

“My beloved”

-Fatma Al Bannai

Among the grey skies

The skies were as a grey as her mood.

She wondered how long she stood there, the shop’s think out display barely gave her the refuge she was seeking as the clouds emptied their burden onto the earth.

She couldn’t help the irony… The weather seemed to match her luck these days.

Dull, bleak and miserable…

A dark shadow loomed above her and she closed her eyes.

Unable to believe that it was possible that today was going to be even darker than it is. “Miss” a dark voice shook her from her thoughts as she jumped and whirled around towards it.

He was a man with dark features, raven dark hair and bottomless black eyes with skin to contrast.

But somehow, she felt lighter as she lost herself in those dark eyes.

He smiled and extended a pink and green umbrella over her head; leaning in to take her hand and wrap her fingers around the handle. “a beautiful woman like you shouldn’t be stuck like this in the rain” his deep voice caused a shiver to run down her spin.

He gave her one last smile before he walked away from her.

And for the first time in months, she smiled as well

My beloved, always protecting, always with me

Her dress glided in the wind as she made her entrance into the tavern.
Immediately, all eyes went to her in wonder and surprise at her appearance in such a place.

With her smiles still in tact; she sat on the empty chair and picked up the sodden slate from the table to read the menu.

A shadow loomed against her view and she looked up; smiling at the sight of a pair of sea green eyes.

The same eyes she had come to adore

“Are you sure you are in the right place, M’lady?” He asked, a playful smirk swept across his lips “tis not safe for a princess to wonder around unprotected”

“And whose to say I’m not without protection” she countered with a smirk of her own before producing a dagger with a simple design; something not fit at all for a princess to carry.

But it is a dagger she treasured dearly.

A dagger given to her by her beloved

Her beloved whose eyes sparkled with joy at the sight of his dagger in her hand.
